f.a.q.

First of all, I never thought a page like this might ever be necessary at all, as I never in my life would have dreamed to get so many messages, and most of them concerning on specific topic: my songs. Thank you so much for your interest, and most of all your kind support!

I do try to always answer every message as friendly as possible. Although, please bear in mind I’m only human after all, I can’t be teased endlessly. If you ask for something, try to be polite while doing so. I shall do the same. Until now I must admit, almost every message I got was just downright lovely. Thank you so much again!

Now for the questions!

I liked your song xy, do you have more songs uploaded?

Why thank you, and yes indeed! I have a whole lot of other songs from the past two years on my computer, the ‘best’/most decent ones/songs I like most are on my soundcloud account.

I also have a #mys (short for ‘my songs’ :D) tag on this blog, that lists you all the songs as well as some background information about lyrics, f.a.q.s and technical things about the recording.

The download for your song xy isn’t working/has reached it’s limit.

If song xy is a Sherlockian song, chances are you’ll find a functioning download on here. If it’s a Piano Song, this post might help you.

In case it isn’t either of both, check my soundcloud for said song and if you’re lucky enough the limit hasn’t been reached yet and you’re free to download it. If it indeed has been reached, then do please contact me and I shall but up another download.

Your paino!song xy is amazing, do you have sheet music for it?

First of all, I’m very glad you like it! But then again, I don’t have sheet music for most of my songs at the moment. I can hardly read notation and let’s not even speak of transcribing songs. It always takes me whole lot of effort to work out the proper notes and measures and that’s why I avoid it for most of the time. That’s why even if sheet music exists, it’s not completely accurate. Until now, these are the songs that have sheet music to them:

  • The Reichenbach Falls (incomplete though, but covers most of it) [sheet music download]
  • What if the ground below your feet suddenly started giving in [sheet music download]
  • The Sherlock and John Variations || cyan-013 is currently working on those, thank you so much, dear! :)

I love your Sherlock and John Variations, do you have sheet music for it /would would you mind doing a tutorial?

I’m very glad you like it, sadly (and as stated above) I don’t have any sheet music but there’s this little graphic I made for John’s theme which should be helpful for learning it.

I have been toying with the idea of a tutorial for quite a while now, the thing is though that I don’t have a functioning camera. I can’t promise anything but if I ever get the chance to I might make one.

Your song xy was great, can I use it for a fanvid/another project?

Generally, I don’t oppose. However, please ALWAYS send me a message and tell me about what you’d want to do. Let me decide about each singular case. (And there haven’t been as many, yet.)

The thing is though that some of these songs contain pieces of my heart and soul. They’re a part of me and I can be incredibly fragile at times. Please try to understand ‘letting them go’ isn’t always easy for me. Just ask me about it, chances are I will encourage you to do whatever you had planned!

How do you record your songs, what program do you use?

I’m currently using a midi-to-usb adapter for the piano part which works just perfectly with garage band. As for the vocals, that’s the good ol’ mac speaking microphone. I’m quite surprised myself how it works so well.

Can I have the lyrics to your song xy?

Sure, but please check up on whether they have already been posted before. Here’s a list of what has been requested until now: (the song title links to its soundcloud page, the post that contains the lyrics is in brackets)

I’ve there’s mistakes on this page, please contact me! :)
